A toothache does not care what day it is. If something hurts, broke, or swelled up, call the office and tell us what is going on. We will fit you in as soon as we can, get you out of pain, and explain what it will take to fix it for good.
What counts as an emergency
A tooth that keeps you up at night, a tooth knocked out or broken, swelling in the gum or face, a lost crown or filling that hurts, or bleeding that will not stop. If you are not sure, call anyway. The front desk can tell you whether it needs to be today.
What to do right now
For a knocked-out adult tooth, pick it up by the crown, rinse it gently, put it back in the socket if you can or keep it in milk, and call immediately. For a toothache, rinse with warm salt water and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen as directed; do not put aspirin on the gum. For swelling, a cold compress on the outside of the face. If you have trouble breathing or swallowing, or swelling that is spreading toward the eye or neck, go to the emergency room.
What happens at the visit
Dr. Seyal looks, takes the x-ray he needs, and gets you comfortable. Then he tells you what is going on and what your options are: sometimes a filling or a temporary fix that day, sometimes a root canal or an extraction, sometimes just medicine to settle an infection before the real work. You decide.

Do I need to be an existing patient?
No. New patients with an emergency are welcome. Call (502) 778-0999.
What if it is after hours?
Call and leave a message with your name and number; we return calls first thing. For swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, go to the nearest emergency room now.
How much will it cost?
It depends on what is wrong, and we will tell you before doing anything beyond the exam. The front desk can go over cost and payment on the phone.
