Our story
Thirty-some years on the same corner
This office opened at 465 North 26th Street in 1992 to take care of the families of Portland and West Louisville, in English and in Spanish. Kids who got their first cleaning here now bring their own kids. The building, the number, and the way people are treated have stayed the same.
Dr. Umair Seyal has taken over the chair. He trained a few miles from here, chose to stay in Louisville, and took on this practice because it is the kind of dentistry he wants to do: everyday care for the people who live nearby, done properly and explained plainly.
Education
Trained here in Louisville
Dr. Seyal earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2017, the same school that trained the doctor who opened this office in 1992. He went back for a Master of Business Administration at the University of Southern Indiana in 2020, which is why the front desk here can tell you what something costs before you sit in the chair.
Dentures & implants
The work that gives people their smile back
Before taking over this office, Dr. Seyal spent years at practices that did little else but dentures and implants, and led the clinical side of a busy walk-in dental office. He has placed 2,000+ implants and fitted dentures for people who had given up on eating comfortably. That experience comes with him: if you are missing teeth, you are talking to someone who does this every week, not someone who will send you across town.
How he practices
You see what he sees
The x-ray goes on the screen. He points to the tooth, tells you what is happening, what it will take to fix, what it costs, and what happens if you wait. Then you decide. Some patients want every detail and some want none; either way, nothing gets done that you did not choose, and nobody is going to talk you into work you do not need.
